Peter Miller was born on Oahu, Hawaii on June 11 1973, and raised in Kailua, on the island's windward coast. A student of Le Jardin Elementary and 1991 graduate of Kalaheo High School, Peter earned a BA in Communications from the University of Hawaii in 2000, and completed pilot training at the PanAm Flight Academy in Arizona in 2002. Peter learned to surf at the age of ten, and went on to compete in amateur surfing events during his teens. A few years out of high school, Peter surfed professionally, competiting in events and traveling the world. By the late 1990's, Peter decided to follow in his fathers footsteps of becoming an airline pilot. Before reaching his ultimate goal to work for Aloha Airlines, Peter chose to fly for Hawaii Air Ambulance and was hired in late 2004. Peter saved dozens of lives by transporting emergency patients across the Hawaiian island chain. After his best friend Jason Bogle died of cancer in the fall of 2004, Peter became a strong Christian, and a youth leader to hundreds of kids, directing them out of trouble through a Christian life. Peter Miller died tragically in an Air Ambulance crash on Maui in March of 2006. He is survived by his twin brother Mike, older brother Tony, parents Barbara and Emmett, and nephews Evan and Cole. |
